Kratom tea bags generally contain kratom leaf material in a porous filter that is steeped in water. Commercial brewing bags may also be used for larger batches of loose leaf or powder.

A 2023 peer-reviewed study indexed by PubMed examined kratom tea-bag samples and compared tea-infusion extraction with laboratory extraction methods.
